CONFERENCE AGENDA HIGHLIGHTS:
Keynote Opening Speaker: Susan Birkhoff, PhD, RN, Program Director of Technology Research and Education at ChristianaCare
Susan Birkhoff, PhD, RN is the Program Director of Technology Research and Education at ChristianaCare where she leads and supports interprofessional research education and mentorship, system wide technology evaluation, and grantsmanship. As a principal investigator and postdoctoral trained nurse scientist, Dr. Birkhoff conducts research studies that investigates the implementation of technology-based solutions to improve complex health problems. She has experience researching innovative ideas from inception through post-implementation evaluating need, usability, engagement, adoption, and impact for a variety of end users. Her research background includes studying different forms of technology and innovations in health care such as virtual reality, robotics, telehealth, and apps. In addition to research, Dr. Birkhoff has 20 years’ experience as a pediatric critical care nurse.

Keynote Closing Speaker: Olivia Lemberger, PhD, RN, CHSE, NPD-BC, Innovation Design Strategist at the American Nurses Association
Olivia Lemberger, PhD, RN, CHSE, NPD-BC, began her nursing career as a health service Peace Corps volunteer in Guinea, West Africa. Olivia’s time in Guinea initiated an appreciation for innovation and created an opportunity to learn how to practice nursing with limited resources. Over the past twenty-five years, she has worked as a nurse in Neurosurgical, Emergency, and Nursing Professional Practice Departments. Olivia obtained a PhD in Health Sciences at Northern Illinois University and was one of the twelve inaugural Johnson and Johnson nurse innovation fellows. During her fellowship, she innovated the Nurse Innovator Index, an open-access repository dedicated to disseminating the work of global nurse innovators. Olivia is thrilled to work for the American Nurses Association as their Innovation Design Strategist.
